Okay – last weekend I went 4 and 0. Let’s see how I do this weekend.

Jets at the Colts. Winner Colts. The Jets are a great story however Manning is a genius.

Also I think that the Jets seemed too happy with their win last week. I do not think that they will be hungry enough to make it happen two weeks in a row. The Jets have been playing on emotion as much as on talent.

The Colts have quite a bit more talent and their win last week seemed very business-like. When they beat the Ravens- they were happy, however they were not exuberant, just another day at the office.

It is likely to all come down to Manning and how he handles the Jets defense. Sunday morning I will coming back from Olympia so I will likely miss this game, however I really looking forward to Vikings Saints Sunday 6:40 ET, 3:30 PT.

Vikings at the Saints. Winner Saints. I would be delighted if the Vikings win. The state of MN would go crazy and the state of WI would need some Rolaids. Packer fans would be green with envy. If the Vikings do somehow beat the Saints they will win on February 7th.

Why did I pick the Saints? To paraphrase Elwood Blues – Drew Brees is on a mission from God.

Drew Brees thinks that God called him to New Orleans to make a difference.  Winning Sunday is simply part of what you do when you are on that kind journey. I have been on a mission from God and when you God has called you to do something like plant a church or help a region recover from a natural disaster you live differently. Just find a church planter and ask them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_planting

The January 18th issue of Sports Illustrated has a story by Peter King about Drew Brees and the title is The Heart of New Orleans. check it out here http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1164811/index.htm

Or check out Friday’s edition of USA Today.(my favorite newspaper). The front page of the sports section has a Cover story entitled A City’s Patron Saints.http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/saints/2010-01-21-new-orleans-cover_N.htm

In that story Drew Brees is quoted as saying “I flet it was my calling that God was leading me here for a reason to help make a difference”

Watch Blues Brothers again (or for the first time) and you will see that people who think they are a mission from God simply live different and they give it all they have.

Geaux Saints!!! Sunday afternoon Michael and I will be on the coach to see what happens!
